• Strict access controls to limit who and what can access information

We only access your EBT balance when you give us permission in the app.

What we don't collect or store

We’re intentional about collecting as little sensitive information as possible. That means:

• We never store your EBT PIN or full card number

• We don’t ask for your Social Security number

Why Forage is more secure than other EBT apps

Some EBT apps rely on scraping EBT balances from other websites or apps. That approach often requires collecting and using highly sensitive personal information, like your address, date of birth, or Social Security number.

Forage takes a different approach. We check balances directly with state EBT systems by partnering with trusted merchants to power balance checks in the app. Forage is also the only EBT app that is USDA-certified to process SNAP EBT payments online.

In practice, this means:

• We use direct, secure connections with your state instead of scraping.

• We collect and store less of your personal data.

• We never store your EBT PIN or full card number.

• We meet strict federal requirements for security, data, handling, and compliance.

You're always in control

You decide when to check your balance, and you can delete your account at any time to remove your personal information from our systems.
