Linking your EBT card lets you check your balance and earn cash back in the Forage app. The process takes less than a minute.

How to link your EBT card

1. Open the Forage app

2. Tap Link EBT card on the Cash Back tab

3. Enter your EBT card number

4. Enter your EBT PIN to confirm

Once your card is linked, you'll be able to check your balance and start earning cash back right away.

Is it safe to link my EBT card?

Yes. Security is a top priority at Forage, and we're intentional about how we handle sensitive information.

When you link your EBT card:

• Your information is protected with bank-level encryption.

• Your EBT PIN is used only to confirm your card, and it's never stored by Forage.

• We collect only what's needed to power balance checks and cash back.

Forage connects directly with your state EBT systems instead of scraping other apps or websites, which allows us to collect and store less sensitive personal data.

Troubleshooting

If you’re having trouble linking your EBT card in Forage—such as seeing an error message or not getting a response—here's what to do.

Check your card details

Most errors happen when there’s a problem with the card information being used.

Make sure:

• The EBT card number is entered correctly

• You’re entering the correct EBT PIN for that card

If the card number or PIN is off, Forage won’t be able to link your EBT card and check your balance.

If you’re unsure, double-check your card or try again carefully.

Check your balance outside of Forage

Next, confirm whether the issue is specific to Forage or coming from the state system.

Try checking your balance using one of these official options.

If you’re able to check your balance successfully there, that’s a good sign your card and PIN are working.

Contact Forage

If your balance shows up through your state but not in the Forage app, the issue is likely on our side. Please contact Forage Support from the app and let us know:

• What error message you’re seeing (if any)

• Your state

• Whether you were able to check your balance elsewhere

This helps us troubleshoot faster and get things back on track.

How to unlink your EBT card

If you ever need to remove your EBT card from your account:

1. Open the Forage app

2. Go to Settings

3. Tap the pencil icon next to your EBT card

4. Follow the prompts to unlink your card

You can link a different EBT card at any time.
