Note: Forage cannot currently reset your PIN, freeze your EBT card, activate your EBT card, or make any other changes to your card. Your state controls card access and PINs.

Common EBT card and PIN issues

You need to reset or change your PIN

Forage can’t change your PIN. This is handled by your state to keep your benefits secure.

What to do:

Use your state’s official EBT phone line, website, or app to reset your PIN. You can find a list of those resources here. You’ll usually need your EBT card number and some personal information to verify your identity.

Your EBT card isn’t activated yet

If your card is new or was recently replaced, it may need to be activated before it works.

What to do:

Call the customer service number on the back of your EBT card and follow the prompts to activate it and set your PIN.

Your card is lost, stolen, or not working

If your card is missing, damaged, or being declined, Forage can’t fix this in the app.

What to do:

Contact your state’s EBT customer service right away. They can deactivate your old card and send you a replacement.
