Customers shopping on Gopuff’s website or on the Gopuff store on Uber Eats can now check out using their SNAP benefits

Gopuff, the leader in instant commerce, today announced the expansion of its Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) EBT payment options, allowing customers to check out using SNAP benefits on both the Gopuff website and via the Uber Eats app.

“With the ability to deliver fresh, affordable groceries straight to customers’ doors in as fast as 15 minutes, Gopuff is uniquely positioned to help improve food access through SNAP,"said Yakir Gola, co-CEO and co-founder of Gopuff. "Since Gopuff began accepting SNAP benefits a few months ago, we’ve seen a great deal of SNAP orders coming from food deserts and areas with high concentrations of individuals with disabilities or seniors. Today, we're proud to further expand access to Gopuff for SNAP recipients by allowing Gopuff purchases throughout our website and the Uber Eats app."

By enabling Uber Eats and Gopuff.com customers to access affordable, SNAP-eligible groceries, Gopuff is helping more Americans access the fresh food they need. Starting today, Gopuff customers nationwide can use SNAP EBT benefits to pay for groceries across multiple shopping channels, with all payments powered by Forage:

  • Gopuff Website: By enabling customers to check out from the Gopuff website using their SNAP benefits, Gopuff further expands access to affordable food for millions of Americans, particularly those over 65 who are less likely to own smartphones.
  • Uber Eats: Uber will now accept SNAP EBT payments for eligible* Gopuff purchases on the Uber Eats app. This announcement builds on Gopuff and Uber’s existing partnership, which was first established in 2021.
  • Gopuff iOS & Android App: Last year, Gopuff became the first instant commerce company to accept SNAP payments for all eligible purchases on its app. Customers can continue to shop for thousands of SNAP-eligible items on Gopuff. Some of the most popular items for customers paying with SNAP benefits include water, eggs, milk, bananas, bread, and chicken.
“Expanding SNAP EBT payments across Uber Eats is a critical step in our mission to make food more accessible for everyone. By enabling SNAP for Gopuff orders on our platform, we’re helping millions of Americans access fresh, affordable groceries — all within a few taps. This is more than convenience; it’s about using technology to break down barriers,” said Hashim Amin, Head of Grocery & Retail for North America at Uber.

Online access to groceries is not just a convenience for many SNAP shoppers, it’s a necessity: one in five SNAP recipients has a disability and many live in food deserts with limited transportation options, making it difficult to access food. With the ability to deliver groceries in as fast as 15 minutes 24/7, and an affordable selection of high-quality food and produce, Gopuff is uniquely positioned to help improve food access for millions of SNAP-eligible Americans.

Early results from Gopuff underscore the importance of online grocery delivery for SNAP recipients. From January 1 to June 8, 2025:

  • 17% of Gopuff SNAP deliveries have been to those living in food deserts
  • 25% of SNAP deliveries on Gopuff have been made to consumers living in census tracts with a higher rate of seniors
  • 55% of SNAP deliveries on Gopuff have been made to consumers living in census tracts with higher rates of people with disabilities

Since launching SNAP acceptance, Gopuff has found that SNAP customers place roughly 2 more orders each month than non-SNAP customers and check out with 62% more units per order, resulting in 22% higher spend. Additionally, as many as 15% of Gopuff’s daily new customers use SNAP on their first order.

“This expansion builds on the progress we’ve made powering SNAP payments within Gopuff's mobile app,” said Ofek Lavian, co-founder and CEO of Forage. “We’re proud to work closely with such a dedicated partner to ensure that more Americans can access the fresh, affordable food they deserve."

Today’s announcement builds on Gopuff’s long-standing efforts to combat food insecurity and improve food access. Since 2019, the company has partnered with Feeding America to support food banks across the U.S., donating over 1.1 million pounds of food in 2024.
